Gary's Bible
Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you and you shall be clean.  But Naaman was furious and went away and said, "Behold, I thought, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and cure the leper.'  2 Kings 5:10-11
God doesn't always act as we think He should.  Sometimes what He calls us to do may seem ridicules to us.  When in fact what He tells us to do is the best way possible.
How do we know what the right thing is to do?  Gary knew this secret.  We pray!   We ask God to show us the way.  But that being said we have to actually do what He tells us to do.
Reading the Bible and seeking God's Word is the key to understanding His will.  I know for me that sometimes I don't fully understand the will of God and I try to do things in a way that seems right to me.
And let me assure you that when I do that I fall flat on my face.  If I had only done what God calls each and everyone of us to do I would have prospered.
Are you obeying the voice of God in your life?  Let's start today.  It'd never too late to start today!

Gary Guth
M
any  years ago now I met a man Named Gary Guth.  He was an incredible man of God.  He was the greatest witness for Jesus Christ whom I have ever met.  He talked lovingly of His Savior where ever he went.  He knew his Bible as well as he knew his own life.  I both loved him and was inspired by him.  Even when others turned away from me he and his wonderful wife Maggi never judged me or let me go.
Sadly Gary was taken home to be with his Lord, way too early in his life.  But before he died he made one last trip to see me, just to let me know that he loved me.  After he died he left me his well worn Bible.  His underlined passages seem to be speaking directly to me.  Now I would like to share these verses and what they mean to me in a column called simply "Gary's Bible".
Gary I will never forget you!
