We are excited here at Comforting Hearts to have the privilege of presenting our 5th Annual Guth Award. As in previous years we have sought to honor someone who embodies the spirit of our great mentor Gary Guth. Gary practiced what I call Friendship Evangelism. Gary met, loved, and invited many into the Kingdom of God. But I don*t think he would have been as successful if he didn*t have a special heart for those he reached out to.
This year we are honoring a woman who has deserved the award for many years now, but has shied away from the spotlight, preferring to quietly serve her Lord. Her heart reminds us a lot of Gary*s.
The Guth Award is the highest honor we can bestow here at Comforting Hearts. And this years recipient is Mrs. Doris Magee. Thank you, Doris for all you do and for the love and caring you display! Doris is currently CHM*s Secretary and acting Chairperson. We are blessed by her willingness to act in any capacity on the CHM board, and she has volunteered of her time and talents in many CHM events and fundraisers. Please join us in thanking her and pray for her, and her husband John (who is our chief chef at our CHM BBQ*s!) as they minister for God*s Kingdom.
